Uncle Jay died in an
incident in Vietnam in 1967. Uncle Jay was killed in action
in a
helicopter crash, offshore, in Military Region 1, South
Vietnam. He was a pilot with a U.S. Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron.
He was a graduate of the
University of Illinois in 1963. He is remembered on the
Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC; see
Mitchell Memorial.
